A unique eco house was introduced at Biotop Ecopark in Danish town of Middelfart. It is not only interesting but also very important construction, because it is completely ecological and in harmony with nature. The team of architects and designers used a lot of innovative methods and procedures.
One of them, for example, was to use a lot of grass, straw or seaweed instead of classical building materials. These would normally be burnt, which has very negative environmental impacts.
Environmental protection was, however, meant for every little detail. For example, the wood has been treated with a special procedure developed in Norway. The wood is soaked in the bio fluid and heats up, polymerizing its cell walls. However, there is also a minimal designer’s intention: this wood will naturally develop a patina that will give the whole house a wonderful rustic touch.
Interesting fact is, that instead of the classic concrete basics, the gigantic screws that hold the house were used in this case. So the house can be “removed” at any time, with little or no damage to the terrain.
